A dense, ruby core with a slightly purple tint on the rims. On the nose are perfumes of fresh blackberries, blackcurrants, with notes of dark chocolate, toasted spice and a touch of new leather. Full bodied, showing concentrated ripe dark fruits, interlaced with highlights of raspberry and freshly picked blackberries. A silky smooth texture is perfectly balanced with subtle nuances of liquorice and spice undertones.
Perfect for drinking now, but will continue to develop and please when carefully cellared.
About Saint Clair Family Estate
Saint Clair Family Estate is owned by Neal and Judy Ibbotson, viticulture pioneers in Marlborough since 1978. Grapes were originally supplied to local wine companies; however a desire to extend the quality achieved in the vineyard through to the finished wine led to the establishment of Saint Clair Family Estate in 1994.
From the first vintage in 1994, Saint Clair's wines have all won medals including gold and the name Saint Clair has been synonymous with quality and its award-winning record continues today.
